Nomex® needlefelt NXNF3 is the heavy aramid quality at 600 gsm and 6 mm thickness, 180 cm wide. Double the fabric weight and one and a half times the thickness of NXNF1 make it the pad for demanding applications.
When the heavy pad pays off
The more uneven the plate and the higher the pressing force, the more substance the pad must provide. At 6 mm, NXNF3 levels out pronounced irregularities and distributes pressure so that edges and seams of the garment do not print through.
Temperature resistance as a service life factor
A pad ages mainly thermally: fibres harden, the pad loses height and recovery force. Meta-aramid withstands around 220 °C and therefore barely ages at normal pressing temperatures, which raises service life accordingly.
Width and order quantity
At 180 cm, even large plates can be covered in one piece. Invoiced in square metres; one running metre equals 1.8 m². Rolls of 30 metres, cut with sharp scissors or a rotary cutter.

How many padding layers does a press need?
That depends on the build-up. One layer of NXNF3 is often sufficient, supplemented by intermediate and top fabrics.
Does the felt lose height over time?
Every needlefelt compacts somewhat. Aramid lasts longer than polyester but does not replace a spacer fabric where constant height is critical.
Is NXNF3 steam permeable?
Yes, the needlefelt structure lets steam and residual moisture pass.
