Polyester needlefelt PNF15 is the heaviest polyester quality in the range at 1500 gsm over 10 mm thickness, 180 cm wide. It is intended as a base pad on which further layers are built.
Base pad rather than interlayer
In multi-layer build-ups the bottom layer carries the main load. It must level out the plate contour, absorb pressure and hold its height for years. PNF15 is designed exactly for that: plenty of fibre mass, high thickness, pronounced recovery force.
When 10 mm pays off
On uneven or aged press plates, on ironing tables with strongly contoured surfaces and in applications requiring soft pressing results. The prerequisite is sufficient machine opening height.
Ordering and handling
Invoiced in square metres; one running metre at 180 cm equals 1.8 m². Rolls of 15 metres. Use a rotary cutter with a sharp blade, as the felt is very dense.

Häufige Fragen
Is an interlayer still needed above PNF15?
Usually yes: a thinner felt layer or a wire screening as an interlayer, with the top cover above.
How long does the base pad last?
Considerably longer than the upper layers, often several years, because it is less thermally stressed.
Is the quality also available in a more heat resistant version?
Yes, as the aramid version NXNF3 at 600 gsm and 6 mm for temperatures above 150 °C.
