Trecolan ironfoam M6 is a blue, open-cell PU foam with a 145 cm roll width, available in 5, 7 and 10 mm thickness. It is the most economical padding solution in the range.
Open-cell – the decisive point
Closed-cell foams block steam and extraction air. In M6 the cells are openly connected so air and steam can flow through the material. On ironing tables with extraction that is the basic precondition for garments coming out dry.
Price advantage and service life
PU foam is considerably cheaper than silicone foam but hardens faster under steam. The sensible strategy is therefore to buy economically and replace regularly. On ironing tables, where thermal load is lower than in presses, this works very well.
Thickness and ordering
5 mm as a thin interlayer, 7 mm as the standard, 10 mm for more padding volume. Invoiced in square metres; one running metre at 145 cm equals 1.45 m². Supplied in full running metres.

How long does PU foam last?
Less long than silicone foam – a few months depending on steam load. Hardening is the signal to replace it.
Is M6 suitable for pressing machines?
For presses at moderate temperature, yes. At high continuous temperature, silicone foam is the better choice.
What distinguishes M6 from M5-T?
M5-T is the even more economical version at 135 cm width from Asian production.
