MICRO-SIL foam silicone SIL81 is an ivory, medium-firm base pad in the 1800 x 900 mm sheet format, available in 4.5, 6, 8 and 10 mm thickness. It is the most widely used sheet pad in the MICRO-SIL range.
What sets MICRO-SIL apart
Foam silicones in the MICRO-SIL range are designed for particularly high heat resistance and long service life. They barely harden under steam and keep their elasticity for years, a fundamental difference from PU-based pads.
Four thicknesses for different build-ups
4.5 mm for very flat build-ups and collar presses, 6 mm as the standard, 8 mm for more volume, 10 mm as a substantial base pad. Because all thicknesses share the same hardness, the build-up can be controlled through thickness alone.
Format and sales unit
The sheet measures 1800 x 900 mm, i.e. 1.62 m². It is sold by the piece. For smaller presses, SIL81 is also available in 1300 x 700 mm and 1100 x 600 mm formats.

Which thickness should I choose?
That depends on opening height and the padding volume required. 6 mm is the standard for pressing machines.
How does SIL81 differ from SIL83?
SIL83 is green and set medium soft, SIL81 is ivory and medium-firm.
Can the sheet be cut to size?
Yes, with a sharp knife or rotary cutter. Offcuts work well for sleeve bucks and small presses.
