Tension spring S17 is 17 cm long with a claw at each end. It holds press covers under tension and is available in six lengths from 15 to 50 cm.
How spring fixing works
The cover is laid over the plate, the spring hooked into the cover edge on one side and into the frame or counterpart on the other. The spring force keeps the cover permanently taut, even when the material stretches slightly under heat.
Choosing the right length
Springs that are too short have to be overstretched and lose their tension; springs that are too long do not tension enough. As a guideline, the fitted spring should be stretched to roughly one and a half times its relaxed length. For larger gaps, choose the next longer size.
Range and ordering
Available in 15, 17, 22, 25, 30, 40 and 50 cm. The springs are supplied in bundles of 10, minimum order 10 pieces, list price applies from 20 pieces. The 10 cm version is available separately under item 390022T.

How many springs are needed per cover?
As a rule of thumb, one spring every 15 to 20 cm along the cover edge.
Do the springs tear the cover?
If tensioned too hard, yes. A sewn-on edge strip of PA fabric D9 spreads the load and prevents this.
Is a clip version available?
Yes, clip versions are available on request in the same lengths.
