Silicone-FEP combined cable SEK6A is a six-core cable with four power cores of 0.75 mm² and two control cores of 0.22 mm². It carries power and signal in a single cable.
Why a combined cable
A steam iron needs power for the heater and signal lines for the thermostat and switches. Two separate cables mean double the routing effort and double the risk of damage at the strain relief. The combined cable carries both in one sheath.
Silicone and FEP as insulation
Silicone stays flexible at high temperatures, FEP adds chemical and thermal resistance. This combination withstands the temperatures inside the iron handle and at the cable entry permanently, exactly where PVC cables embrittle first.
Routing and ordering
When making up, ensure a clean strain relief so the conductors are not loaded in tension. Rolls of 50 metres, minimum order 10 running metres. Electrical work must be carried out by a qualified electrician.
