Polyester needlefelt PNF2 in the 8 mm version has the same fabric weight as the 6 mm version but a looser structure. The result: more volume, more compliance, the same amount of fibre.

Same weight, more height

At equal fabric weight, looser needling produces more thickness and less density. The pad yields more and moulds better around raised parts, so buttons and zips disappear into the padding instead of printing through.

When 8 mm beats 6 mm

On contoured press plates, on garments with many trims, and wherever soft pressing results are required. The prerequisite is sufficient press opening height so the taller build-up does not compromise closing force.

Ordering

Häufige Fragen

Can I mix 6 mm and 8 mm?

Yes, multi-layer build-ups are common, for example a firm layer at the bottom and a softer layer on top.

Does the looser quality lose height faster?

It compacts somewhat more at first but then stabilises at a constant level.

For which machines is the thickness too great?

For presses with very limited opening height; PNF1 at 3 mm is the appropriate choice there.
