It is deliberately thinner than the standard N1 cloth and is aimed at operations that change covers frequently and keep a close eye on material costs.

When is N4 the right choice?

Wherever a cover is consumable rather than a permanent surface: as a catch cover above the actual top fabric, as a protective sheet for ironing tables during downtime, and as a barrier layer when pressing heavily dyed or soiled goods. The light quality also works well as an interlayer during steaming, because it barely restricts steam flow.

How does N4 differ from N1?

The key difference is weight: 145 gsm against 185 gsm. N4 is therefore more steam permeable and noticeably cheaper, but has a shorter service life under continuous pressure. For pressing machines running three shifts, N1 is the more durable choice; for replacement covers and protective sheets, N4 delivers the better cost per metre.

Supply form and cutting

N4 is supplied in 150 m pieces at 160 cm width and sold from one running metre. Because the quality is light, it can be cut and hemmed easily with scissors. For catch covers a plain cut without a hem is usually sufficient, fixed with tension springs or clamps.

Technical data

Material

100 % cotton

Colour

natural

Weight

145 gsm

Width

160 cm

Piece length

150 m

Temperature resistance

up to approx. 150 °C

Sales unit

m

Item number

110007T

Manufacturer

Trecolan Handels GmbH

Frequently asked questions

Can N4 replace the standard N1 cloth?

Not as a permanent cover on heavily loaded presses – that is what N1 is designed for. As a replacement, catch or protective cover, N4 is the more economical solution.

Is the material washable?

Natural cotton can be washed at 60 °C but will typically shrink by a few percent. Allow extra material for close-fitting covers.

How many metres are needed for one ironing table?

For a standard ironing table of roughly 120 x 45 cm, one running metre at 160 cm width is usually enough for a complete cover including the wrap-around.

145 gsm – the lightweight, particularly economical cotton quality

Ideal as a catch cover or protective sheet that is changed frequently

160 cm wide, supplied in 150 m pieces for predictable consumption

Natural and unbleached: no optical brighteners in contact with garments

[1379,1396

post-2361","product","type-product","status-publish","product_cat-fabrics","product_cat-cotton","desktop-align-left","tablet-align-left","mobile-align-left","first","instock","taxable","shipping-taxable","purchasable","product-type-simple
["GET
