Anti-lustre mesh fabric AG15 is a polyester wire screening in medium twill weave at 355 gsm and 160 cm width. In many applications it replaces the metallic press screen, at lower weight and with no corrosion risk.
How anti-lustre fabrics work
Shine occurs when fibres are pressed flat under heat and pressure and reflect light directionally. A mesh fabric interrupts the flat contact: the raised structure carries part of the load so the fabric is not compressed across its whole surface. The pressing result stays matt.
Two fitting positions
AG15 is used either as the top layer directly beneath the garment or as an upper intermediate layer between padding and top cover. In the second position it additionally stabilises the padding and extends its service life.
Why polyester instead of metal
Polyester wire screenings are lighter, cheaper and do not corrode. They conduct heat less well than copper, so plate temperature may need slight adjustment.

Does AG15 replace a copper screen?
In many applications yes. At very high steam volumes the metallic screen remains superior because of its better heat conduction.
Which alternative is finer?
AG16 with braid weave and AG20 in extra fine version.
