Brass press screening MKR50 is a bare press screen in twill weave at 130 cm width. Brass is harder than copper and therefore more dimensionally stable, though it conducts heat slightly less well, a trade-off that pays off in many applications.

Brass compared with copper

Copper conducts heat best but is soft and deforms more easily under mechanical load. Brass is harder, stays flat for longer and costs considerably less. For standard goods where maximum heat conduction is not critical, MKR50 is therefore the more economical choice.

Typical applications

On the lower plate MKR50 handles steam distribution, on the upper plate shine prevention. In laundries and garment factories with high throughput and robust goods this is the most common configuration.

Ordering and handling

Sold in square metres; one running metre at 130 cm equals 1.3 m², minimum order 10 metres or 13 m². Cut with metal shears and fold the edges over so they do not damage the padding.

Häufige Fragen

When should I prefer copper?

When maximum heat conduction is required or very delicate, light fabrics are being processed.

Does brass tarnish?

Yes, bare brass develops a patina under steam. This has no effect on function.

Which roll lengths are available?

Rolls of 10 and 15 metres at 130 cm width.
