Bristle knit AG17-N3 is a polyester bristle fabric at 265 gsm and 150 cm width. Instead of a flat woven surface it carries short, upright bristles, exactly what pile fabrics need for pressing.
Why pile fabrics need special treatment
On velvet, velour, loden and cashmere the pile stands upright. Pressing these fabrics onto a flat surface flattens the pile so it reflects light directionally, producing the typical glazing which is barely reversible. A bristle knit catches the pile between the bristles so it stays raised.
Advantage over the needle board
Classic needle boards are rigid, heavy and cannot be laid over curved surfaces. AG17-N3 is a flexible knit from the roll: it can be cut, laid around sleeve bucks and contoured plates and fixed like an ordinary cover.
Use and care
AG17-N3 is fitted as the top layer on pressing machines and ironing tables. Lint and fibre residues between the bristles can be removed with a brush or compressed air, which preserves the bristle effect over a long period.

Häufige Fragen
Can AG17-N3 stay on the press permanently?
Yes, provided pile fabrics are mainly processed. On smooth fabrics the bristle structure can itself leave marks.
For which fabrics is the material particularly worthwhile?
Cashmere, loden, velvet, velour, corduroy and raised wool qualities.
How is the quantity calculated?
In square metres; one running metre at 150 cm equals 1.5 m².
