Copper press screening KKR65 is a bare, untinned press screen in twill weave at 130 cm width. It performs the same job as the tinned qualities but omits the protective layer, which makes it more economical.
Bare or tinned – which goes where?
Bare copper oxidises under steam and gradually forms a dark patina. On dark or robust goods this is irrelevant; on light, damp fabrics it can cause discolouration. Anyone mainly pressing light goods should choose KKV50 or KKV25.
Function in the machine build-up
On the lower plate, KKR65 spreads the steam that emerges at individual points across the surface and protects the padding underneath from local overheating. On the upper plate it keeps the hot surface minimally away from the fabric and thus prevents shiny patches.
Cutting and order quantity
KKR65 is sold in square metres; one running metre at 130 cm width equals 1.3 m². The minimum order is 10 metres, i.e. 13 m². Cut with metal shears and fold over or deburr the edges.

Häufige Fragen
Does bare copper discolour the laundry?
Usually not on dry, dark goods. For light, damp goods the tinned KKV50 version is the safe choice.
How does twill differ from braid weave?
Twill weave is coarser and more robust; braid weaves are finer and give smoother surfaces.
Can the screen be cleaned?
Yes, mechanically with a soft brush. Aggressive acids attack the copper and should be avoided.
