Copper press screening KKV50 is a tinned press screen in twill weave at 130 cm width. It sits as a metallic interlayer between padding and garment and performs two jobs at once: steam distribution and shine prevention.
Steam distribution on the lower plate
Steam leaves the lower plate through individual holes at specific points. Without a distributing layer this creates wet spots and dry zones. The wire screening spreads the steam across the whole surface because the metallic structure diverts it sideways before it enters the padding.
Shine prevention on the upper plate
On the upper plate the screen acts as a spacer: it keeps the hot plate minimally away from the fabric and prevents the flat compression that causes shine. Copper conducts heat well enough that pressing performance is retained.
Why tinned?
Bare copper oxidises under steam and can cause discolouration on light fabrics. Tinning forms a protective layer that prevents this and extends service life. For less critical applications the bare KKR65 version is the more economical alternative.

Häufige Fragen
How is the wire screening calculated?
It is sold in square metres. At 130 cm width one running metre equals 1.3 m²; the minimum order is a 5 metre length, i.e. 6.5 m².
What is the difference to KKV25?
KKV25 is extra fine and 150 cm wide, the choice for particularly delicate fabrics. KKV50 is the standard fineness.
Can the screen be cut to size?
Yes, with metal shears. Cut edges should be folded over or deburred so they do not damage the padding.
