Glass fibre insulation hose GFIS35 is the larger version with a 35 mm diameter, supplied on rolls of 50 metres. It insulates steam lines for which the 25 mm hose is too tight.
The right diameter
An insulation hose must fit over the line without flapping. Too tight and it cannot be pulled on; too loose and it does not sit against the pipe and insulates poorly. For main lines and manifolds with a larger cross-section, GFIS35 is the right size.
What the insulation achieves
Insulated steam lines keep the steam temperature more constant. That reduces condensate in the line and with it the risk of water hammer and dripping at the iron. At the same time the energy losses of the whole installation drop noticeably.
Fitting and ordering
The hose is slipped over the line and secured at the ends. On lines already installed it can be slit lengthwise and closed with heat-resistant tape. Minimum order 25 running metres.
