Knitted tube WS60 is a tubular knitted cotton strip 60 mm wide. It is used as cleaning material in fusing presses, running along with the machine.
Cleaning during operation
In fusing presses, hot-melt adhesive that strikes through settles on rollers and belts. The knitted tube is guided over the roller to be cleaned and picks up the still soft adhesive before it cures. That saves lengthy shutdown cleaning with solvents.
Why cotton
Cotton is absorbent, heat resistant enough for roller temperatures and leaves no residues in the machine. Synthetic fibres could melt on contact with hot rollers and form deposits, exactly the opposite of the intended effect.
The tubular form as an advantage
The knitted tube has no open cut edges where fibres could fray, so no loose cotton fibres reach the goods. Supplied on rolls of approximately 25 metres, minimum order 25 running metres.
