Meta-aramid needlefelt NXNF33 is a high temperature resistant intermediate pad at 500 gsm and 6 mm thickness in 160 cm width. It belongs to the same fibre family as Nomex® and offers comparable thermal properties.
Volume at moderate density
At 500 gsm over 6 mm, NXNF33 is less densely packed than the 600 gsm quality and therefore softer. For applications where the pad should absorb contours rather than merely distribute pressure, that is exactly the right characteristic.
Thermal resistance
Meta-aramid does not melt; it only chars at very high temperatures. In continuous operation up to around 220 °C the fibre structure stays intact, so the pad hardens far more slowly than comparable polyester qualities.
Use and ordering
NXNF33 is fitted as an intermediate pad between the base pad and the top fabric. It is invoiced in square metres; one running metre at 160 cm equals 1.6 m². Rolls of 30 metres.

At the same weight NXNF49 is only 5 mm and has an integrated scrim, making it more dimensionally stable, specifically for ironing tables.
Is meta-aramid the same as Nomex?
Nomex® is a brand name for a meta-aramid fibre. The fibre class is the same.
How do I know the pad needs replacing?
When it hardens, loses height or leaves marks on the garment.
