Multi-Stretch MS50 is a white knit that stretches in all directions, at 385 gsm and 130 cm width. It is used wherever a cover has to be tensioned not over a flat surface but over a three-dimensionally shaped plate.
What multidirectional stretch achieves
Woven covers stretch essentially only on the bias. Over curved press plates or sleeve bucks this creates creases that imprint as a line into the garment. MS50 stretches evenly in length and width and therefore lies crease-free, without needing darts.
Use on intermediate frames
Intermediate frames on pressing machines are covered with an elastic knit that lets steam through while staying under tension. MS50 holds that pre-tension over long periods because the knit has high recovery force and does not stretch permanently.
Material data and processing
At 385 gsm, MS50 is strong enough for continuous operation yet still easy to handle. When cutting, the main stretch direction should run across the pulling direction. Sew with an elastic stitch so the seam follows the stretch.

Häufige Fragen
How does MS50 differ from MS60?
MS60 is considerably heavier at 620 gsm and intended for more heavily loaded presses. MS50 is lighter and more flexible.
Is the knit steam permeable?
Yes. The loop structure lets steam pass and therefore also suits intermediate layers.
How is MS50 fixed?
Tension springs, draw strings or clamping strips are common; because of the stretch, less pre-tension is needed than with woven fabrics.
