Nomex® full twisted cloth NN2 is the heavy aramid quality at 220 gsm, available in 160, 190 and 250 cm width. Both yarn systems are twisted, hence full twisted, which gives the fabric exceptional dimensional stability.
Where NN2 plays to its strengths
On fusing presses, laundry presses and wrinkle-free lines, high temperature, high pressure and continuous operation come together. NN2 withstands that combination without stretching or fraying at the edges. In the knitwear industry the fabric additionally serves as a conveyor belt for fusing and steaming machines.
Full twisted instead of single yarn
In full twisted fabrics both warp and weft are twisted. This raises tensile and abrasion strength considerably and reduces elongation under load. For endless running belts that is decisive: a belt that stretches will track sideways and needs constant readjustment.
Choosing the width
160 cm is the standard width for presses, 190 cm for wider fusing lines and 250 cm for large-format laundry equipment. Seamless width matters because every seam in a running belt is a weak point and a potential imprint.

Can NN2 be made into an endless belt?
Yes. For running belts the fabric is cut and joined with heat-resistant thread or PFA welding film.
How does NN2 differ from PTFE belts?
NN2 is a textile, steam permeable fabric. PTFE glass fabrics are non-stick coated and closed; the choice depends on whether steam has to pass through the belt.
What temperature does NN2 withstand?
Around 220 °C continuously, and more for short periods, without melting.
