Polyamide draw string PK 2.5 is the thinnest cord in the range at 2.5 mm. Polyamide compensates for the smaller diameter with higher fibre strength.
Thin but not weak
Polyamide fibres have higher tensile strength and elongation at break than polyester. A 2.5 mm polyamide cord therefore reaches load values that would require a thicker cord in polyester. Where the edge channel is narrow, that is the decisive advantage.
Typical applications
Sleeve bucks, collar presses, small ironing tables and all covers with a narrow edge channel. On covers made from thin fabrics the fine cord is also gentler because it presses less into the material when tightened.
Ordering and handling
Available on rolls of 280 and 500 metres. Melt the ends thermally after cutting so they do not fray. For larger areas the polyester cords PK28 and PK29 are the stronger alternatives.
