Polyamide needlefelt PANF4 is a very heavy base pad at 1425 gsm over 10 mm thickness in 180 cm width. It combines the high fibre mass of a base pad with the elasticity of polyamide.
Mass and elasticity combined
Heavy polyester felts bring plenty of substance but gradually compact under continuous load. Polyamide springs back more strongly and delays that process. At equal density a polyamide pad therefore keeps its original height longer.
Position in the machine build-up
PANF4 sits as the bottom padding layer directly on the press plate. It levels out the plate contour and absorbs the bulk of the pressing force. Interlayer and top cover follow above and are replaced more frequently.
Ordering and cutting
Invoiced in square metres; one running metre at 180 cm equals 1.8 m². Rolls of 15 metres. Because of the high density, a rotary cutter with a fresh blade is recommended.

When to choose PANF4 over PNF15?
When maximum recovery force is required. Polyester PNF15 is the more economical alternative at similar thickness.
How long does a base pad last?
Often several years, as it is thermally less stressed than the upper layers.
Is the pad steam permeable?
Yes, though to a limited extent. With high steam volumes a spacer fabric underneath can be useful.
