Polyester cover fabric D8 is a dark blue, smooth top cover at 210 gsm and 150 cm width. The smooth surface sets it apart from the rough cotton-type qualities and makes it the first choice wherever structural marking has to be avoided.
What does the smooth surface achieve?
Rough fabrics imprint their structure into smooth outer materials under high pressing force, visible as a fine grid on silk, viscose or coated fabrics. D8 has a smooth finish and therefore transfers virtually no weave structure, even after long periods under pressure.
Use in dry cleaning
Polyester resists the solvents commonly used in textile cleaning and does not swell. Combined with the dark colour, which visually masks residues, D8 is an established standard on spotting tables and finishing stations.
Supply form and fitting
D8 comes on rolls of 30 or 60 metres at 150 cm width and is cut from one running metre. For ironing tables allow the plate dimensions plus about 12 cm per side so the cover can be tensioned firmly with a draw string or springs.

Häufige Fragen
Does the blue cover bleed?
No. The material is dope dyed or finished to be colour-fast at high temperature and releases no colour onto garments in normal use.
What is the difference to D13N?
D13N is lighter at 155 gsm, has a rough finish and is considerably cheaper. D8 is smoother, heavier and the better choice for delicate outer fabrics.
What temperature can D8 withstand?
Like all polyester fabrics, roughly 150 °C contact temperature continuously.
