Polyester draw string PK28 is a 3 mm, eight-strand braided cord on rolls of 200 metres. It holds press covers under tension beneath the plate.
How draw cord fixing works
The cover is fitted with a channel or eyelets along its edge, the cord threaded through and drawn together beneath the plate. The cover then lies evenly tensioned, without the point loads that tension springs create and that can tear the cover edge.
Why eight strands
An eight-strand braided cord spreads the pulling force across more individual strands than a twisted cord. It stretches less, barely frays at the ends and keeps its round section instead of flattening under load and cutting into the cover.
Ordering
Supplied in full rolls; one roll equals 200 metres. For heavier loads the 4 mm cord PK29 is available, and for fine applications the polyamide cord PK 2.5.

How much cord is needed per cover?
As a rule of thumb, the perimeter of the plate plus around 50 cm for knotting.
Is the cord heat resistant?
Polyester withstands normal pressing temperatures; direct contact with the hot plate should be avoided.
How are the ends secured?
Melt them thermally with a lighter or hot knife so they do not fray.
