Polyester needlefelt PNF2 at 650 gsm and 6 mm thickness is the best-selling intermediate pad in the Trecolan range. It covers the standard case: sufficient volume, high density and a material price that allows large-area use.
The role of the intermediate pad
Between the base pad and the top cover, the felt layer ensures that buttons, seams and zips do not press through as marks. It absorbs these raised parts and distributes the load evenly across the surface.
Why 650 gsm is a good choice
Lighter felts compact quickly and lose their effect. Considerably heavier qualities add a lot of build-up and lengthen the steam path. 650 gsm over 6 mm sits in the range that balances both, which is why PNF2 is the standard.
Handling and ordering
PNF2 comes on rolls of 30 metres at 150 cm width. Invoiced in square metres; one running metre equals 1.5 m². Cut with scissors or a rotary cutter; no edge finishing is required.

Häufige Fragen
What is the difference to the 8 mm version?
The 8 mm version (item 150014T) has the same weight but a looser structure, making it more voluminous and softer.
How long does a PNF2 pad last?
Several months to years depending on cycle rate and temperature. Hardening and height loss are the signals to replace it.
Is PNF2 heat resistant enough for fusing presses?
Up to about 150 °C, yes. Above that, aramid qualities such as NXNF33 are the correct choice.
