Silicone adhesive SK41 is a heat-resistant adhesive in a 90 ccm tube. It is used to fix press pads and coverings permanently to press plates and ironing tables.
Why a special adhesive
Ordinary adhesives lose their grip or become brittle at continuous temperatures of 130 to 180 °C. The pad then lifts at the edges and shifts. SK41 is designed for these temperatures and stays elastic even after many heating cycles.
Permanently elastic rather than hard
A hard-curing adhesive transfers every movement of the pad directly into the bond line, which eventually cracks. Silicone adhesive stays permanently elastic and absorbs the thermal expansion of pad and plate without breaking.
Application
Clean and degrease the substrate, apply the adhesive in dots or beads, press the pad down and let it cure. Do not bond across the whole area – spot bonding lets the pad move thermally and makes later replacement easier.

Does the whole area need bonding?
No, spot or bead bonding is usually better: it holds sufficiently and simplifies pad replacement.
How long does curing take?
Depending on layer thickness and room temperature; allow full curing before putting the machine into service.
How many tubes do I need?
One tube is usually enough for a standard press plate.
