Silicone electric cable SEK4/1.5 is a four-core cable with a 1.5 mm² cross-section per core, insulated in red-brown. The substantial cross-section is designed for heating elements.
Cross-section and heating load
Heating elements in ironing machines draw considerably more current than control circuits. A cross-section that is too small heats up additionally, an effect that quickly becomes critical in an already hot environment. 1.5 mm² per core provides the necessary margin.
Silicone as insulation
Silicone stays flexible at temperatures at which PVC would already embrittle. In ironing machines, where cables run close to heating components, that is the decisive point for operational safety over years.
