Spacer fabric PES6018 is a three-dimensional polyester knit 5.5 mm thick and 140 cm wide. Two face layers are connected by vertical pile threads, creating a continuously open air space between them.
What distinguishes a spacer fabric from felt
Needlefelt consists of entangled fibres that compact under pressure and lose height over time. A spacer fabric works with vertical pile threads that stand back up when the load is removed. The padding therefore stays evenly high throughout its service life.
Advantage for steam and extraction
The open cross-section between the face layers acts like a duct system: steam spreads across the area and suction air flows downwards unimpeded. On ironing tables with extraction this noticeably shortens drying time because residual moisture does not remain in the padding.
Fitting and ordering
PES6018 is laid as a padding layer beneath the top cover. It is invoiced in square metres; one running metre at 140 cm equals 1.4 m². The material can be cut with sharp scissors or a rotary cutter.

How does PES6018 differ from PES5925?
PES5925 is almost twice as thick at 10 mm and 155 cm wide, for more voluminous padding.
Does the knit settle over time?
Considerably less than needlefelt because the pile threads spring back elastically.
Is the material washable?
Polyester tolerates cleaning; the key point is that the knit dries completely before it is refitted.
